Children and teens referred to Katie A are experiencing obstacles that threaten their home, relative or foster care placements or are at-risk of developing mental health challenges. The program helps stabilize home placements and supports family reunification, stabilization and overall well-being. While providing intensive mental health services, Katie A helps link the child and family team to community resources and assists them in forming stronger family connections.
To receive services through Katie A, the child must have an open case with Department of Family and Children Services and must be referred by a DFCS social worker.
