Specialty Applied Behavior Analysis
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most effective method to teach children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities; it is a methodology that applies scientific interventions to address behavioral needs.
ABA facilitates the development of language, social interactions and independent living by applying basic behavioral practices — positive reinforcement, teaching in small steps, prompting, repeated practice, generalization of skills, etc. In addition to building critical skills, ABA can also help reduce both everyday social problems and serious behavior disorders.
Uplift Family Services works closely with families, primary and specialty care physicians, pediatricians, schools and community agencies to provide and coordinate a continuum of high quality services. The program serves children with ASD and other developmental disabilities and their families at home, in school or at our clinic.
Our extensive services for children and families range from assessments to home-based and school consultation to professional development. We are committed to helping families throughout California receive the services they need at the earliest point possible.
How does a child receive services from this program?
The ASD program is available for families through private pay, insurance and through pediatrician referrals. In 2012, California passed the Autism Insurance Reform Law requiring that California insurers and health plans cover individuals with autism. (That law has been extended through January 1, 2017.) In 2014, the Affordable Care Act, which mandates coverage for Autism, will give families expanded access to affordable insurance options.
